Welcome to the Episode #8 of Home is Where the Horror is. Brian and Monica are your horror hosts who want to share their love of all things spooky with you.

In tonight’s episode Brian gets to choose the topics so we discuss

  • Dead Alive (1992)
  • Yara-Ma-Yha-Who
  • Vulcan Hotel

Dead Alive, released in 1992 is still considered the bloodiest film of all time. Directed by Peter Jackson, yes the same Peter Jackson responsible for the Lord of the Rings, this can be boiled down to a slapstick zombie gore-fest with plenty of humor. Originating from Australia, the Yara-Ma-Yha-Who is a red frog/human vampire that sucks blood from its victims through the suckers on its hands and feet. Then this creature swallows them whole only to puke the poor person back up, over and over again. The Vulcan hotel is one of the most well known haunted hotels in all of New Zealand with the spirit of a murdered prostitute, The Rose, who seems to prefer attacking any male who dares to stay in the room of her demise.
